Healthcare Distribution Association (HDA) is a trade association that represents pharmaceutical and related healthcare product distributors throughout the Americas. HDA provides a link between pharmaceutical manufacturers and more than 200,000 pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and others nationwide.

Their Needs:

HDA provides a standard pharmaceutical product information form for companies they represent. ESW was hired to enhance and restructure their existing product form, which had formatting issues and functioned poorly on different versions of Excel. It also lacked protection from changes and alterations to the layout due to Excel version issues.

The Solution:

After reviewing HDA’s product form, ESW developed formulas and macros to not only improve the user experience but also to reduce errors and increase security. ESW created a simple yet dynamic input form that auto-generates the appropriate product form based on the input fields that are selected.
The auto-generated form also has protections and highlighted cells to make it easier for users to complete. Messages appear on the screen if a user forgets to fill out a required field. Once the form is completed, it can be saved and exported as a PDF with just a click of a button.
